On July 4, 2014, we held a launch party of “The Homeless World Cup Japan Team – The Strength to Not Give Up” (Written by Yoshiki Hiruma, Published by PHP). 75 attendees gathered to enjoy the panel discussion titled "What Soocer Can Do for Our Society Today " and the later party . The attendees included present and past homeless soccer players, opponent team members and supporters. Some ideas raised during the panel discussion football’s ability to bridge together a variety of people regardless of social position, and the potentials from hosting a Diversity Cup that can be enjoyed by other socially disadvantaged people or local residents, or a Homeless World Cup in Japan.
